About Ava

Hi! My name is Ava Henry, and I’m an 18-year-old artist based in Cincinnati, OH. Most of the art you see is created with watercolor, but I love experimenting with a variety of mediums: graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, markers, and ballpoint pen to name a few.

My art comes from inspirations everywhere. I often incorporate cultural elements—flowers, butterflies, Maya language and art, and influences from Guatemala and other Latin American countries. I also reference pop culture, often illustrating singers and actors whose work has touched me.

But the pieces closest to my heart involve people in my life. Whether inspired by someone I briefly met who left an impact, or a painting created as a gift for a family member, these interactions are what drive me to keep creating. My work centers on themes of identity, beauty, and community—and it’s those connections that make art so meaningful to me.
